There’s nothing quite like a two-stroke Detroit Diesel revving in the morning. What could make it better? Wheelies! For this repowered Hendrickson, pulling off a sweet wheelie is no problem.
For anyone who isn’t familiar with two-strokes, it’s essentially the same as four-stroke but less complex yet boasts more power. The original designs date back to the 30’s and very little has changed in design over the past 60 years. Two-strokes wind up fast with a power band suited for heavy machinery.
Although four-stroke is more commonly used for machinery, this Hendrickson makes for a good demonstration of what a Detroit diesel two-stroke engine is capable of.
