Motorists in Colorado got a nasty surprise earlier this month when monstrous hail began to fall, shattering windshields and causing significant damage.
YouTube user Denver Ironman posted a dash cam video of the destructive event on May 8th and the footage has gained over 100,000 viewers since.
The motorist was driving westbound on I-70 near the Ward Road and Colfax exit outside of Denver, Colorado at approximately 6 p.m. when the rain began to pick up.
Suddenly hail can be heard in the video, but not seen.
The driver can be heard cursing off-screen when a large crack appears across the windshield of the vehicle.
The hail brings the motorists and all other vehicles around him to a near stop as the condition of the road and the windshield worsens.
All traffic continues to creep hesitantly forward as the hail falls relentlessly from the sky, pelting the highway and those on it.
