A commercial van was crushed between two tractor trailers on Interstate 195 Tuesday morning, killing two people and causing a major traffic jam.
It happened on October 3rd at approximately 9:30 a.m. in East Providence, Rhode Island.
According to Turn to 10, the van, owned by New Jersey-based Metropolitan Staple Corp., was slowing for traffic when it was struck from behind by a tractor trailer, pushing it into another semi truck in front.
40-year-old Steven Magan, of Palmer, Massachusetts, and 38-year-old Axel Moran, of Marlboro, Massachusetts, were inside the van and died at the scene of the crash.

Metropolitan Staple Corp. was contacted but has yet to release a statement.
Officials temporarily shut down all lanes on both sides of I-195 as they investigated the crash and cleared the scene.

At 1 p.m., traffic was moving slowly on the westbound side of I-195 and eastbound side traffic was moving only on the breakdown lane. By 3 p.m., the lanes were reopened.
The crash remains under investigation.
