A Fiesta Motel got more of a “fiesta” than it bargained for, when a motorist caused an 18 wheeler to plow through its parking lot, damaging at least six vehicles and crashing into the building.

The incident happened around noon on Wednesday, at the the Fiesta Inn and Suites Motel in San Antonio, in the 4900 block of Northwest Loop 410, mySanAntonio reports.

Authorities say that an unnamed female driver in a Chevrolet SUV turned out of the parking lot of John William Interiors and onto the access road for Loop 410. But she pulled right in front of an 18 wheeler causing a collision.

The crash caused the truck driver to lose control, veering off the road and onto frontage area business property. The out-of-control semi ended up plowing through two business lots, hitting six vehicles, and finally coming to a stop a few feet away from the hotel lobby’s door.

The SUV driver was the only one to suffer major injuries.

The truck driver and his passenger were treated for injuries on the scene. Fortunately no pedestrians or other drivers were caught in the wreckage.

Some witnesses have alerted authorities that the woman disregarded a stop sign, causing the wreck.

The female motorist was given a ticket for driving without a license and was taken to a nearby hospital, where she is stable condition.

Clean up and emergency crews were still on the scene as of late Wednesday afternoon.
