Two semi trucks went up in flames in a Flying J parking lot after a refrigeration unit caught fire.
The blaze happened on Friday, July 28th, at the truck stop in Post Falls, Idaho.
The two tractor trailers were parked at the Flying J truck stop when a refrigeration unit in one of the trucks caught fire, creating sparks that jumped to a neighboring Swift Transportation semi truck, the Spokesman-Review reported.
The truck with the refrigeration unit was hauling potatoes, and the Swift truck was hauling old newspaper meant for recycling.

The newspaper load proved to be the most difficult to extinguish, as crews had to open up the trailer and put out the flames on each individual bundle of newspaper.
A third semi suffered some heat damage from the blaze but did not catch fire. A small fire also spread to a nearby grassy median but was quickly extinguished by bystanders.

“We believe the fire may have started in the refrigeration unit,” said Kootenai County Fire and Rescue Battalion Chief Larry Sande.
The driver that was hauling potatoes was taken to the hospital for respiratory issues, but no one else was hurt in the incident.
