A trucker’s windshield was shattered by a large road sign thrown off a bridge early Saturday morning.

It happened on Interstate 35 near Owatonna, Minnesota at approximately 1:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 17th.

According to Dean’s Westside Towing, the company that retrieved the semi truck after the accident, the truck driver was driving North on I-35, south of Highway 14 when he approached the KOA bridge near mile marker 40. Upon reaching the bridge, an individual, or group of individuals, threw a large road sign off of the bridge.

The road sign came crashing through the windshield of the tractor trailer and narrowly missed hitting the truck driver.

“This could have easily killed the driver and who knows how many others had he lost control and struck other motorists,” Dean’s Westside Towing wrote on Facebook.

Fortunately, the trucker was able to maintain control of the vehicle, even with a large metal sign sticking through his windshield.

No other vehicles were involved in the accident and the truck driver was not seriously injured.
