A deceased truck driver’s identity has been released following a single-vehicle crash that sent the big rig crashing into a ditch last week.

The incident occurred on Wednesday, December 20th at approximately 4:00 a.m. near Brownsville, Tennessee.

According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, 30-year-old Timothy Clark Jr. was traveling along Highway 70 when he veered off the road, sending his rig skidding into a ditch and crashing into a culvert before overturning and landing on the drivers side, spilling the load of lumber.

Clark had just picked up a load in Jackson, Tennessee and was on his way east at the time of the crash, reported WBBJ News.

Witnesses say the incident was so loud that it woke them from their sleep.

“I heard it more where the ridges are in the side of the road. That’s what I kept hearing…. It was just so loud,” said Logan Duncan, who lives along Highway 70.

The incident is still under investigation as officials are still unsure what caused the truck driver to leave the roadway.
