Police are on the search for two men who violently beat and robbed a trucker in a rest stop bathroom.

It happened on Monday, September 4th, in Dodge County Wisconsin at approximately 10:30 p.m.

According to Fox 6, on Monday night, a 55-year-old truck driver from Titusville, Pennsylvania, was stopped at a rest stop off of Interstate 41 near Lomira, Wisconsin. The trucker then entered the rest stop to use the bathroom. Once inside, the truck driver says that two men jumped the stall door, violently attacked him, and took all the money in his pockets. The two men then fled the scene.

The truck driver suffered serious head injuries from the attack and is currently at a nearby hospital.

“It’s getting worse and worse and we really are getting scared,” said Cindy Pelletierm, a truck driver stopped at the same location while officials investigated the incident on Tuesday morning.

Justin Pasek, another local driver stopped at the rest stop on Tuesday morning, says he believes truckers are targeted because they are generally not allowed to carry a firearm. He also insists that rest areas such as these be better lit to ensure the safety of other truckers.

“People would be less bold if more people were able to see what’s going on,” he said.

Police are still on the hunt for information regarding the suspect in this violent robbery.

“We are looking for information, looking for witnesses that may have seen something unusual,” said Dodge County Sheriff Dale Schmidt.

“A vehicle description. Anything that the public might have to help us resolve this.”

Anyone with any information about the robbery is urged to call the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office at 920-386-3726.
