A woman was arrested for shooting and killing a truck driver at a rest stop in Iowa early Wednesday morning.
According to Iowa County Sheriff Rob Rotter, police dispatchers received a call at approximately 2:37 a.m. reporting a shooting at the westbound Interstate 80 rest stop in Victor, Iowa, near mile marker 208.
Officers arrived on the scene and discovered a truck driver, dead in his rig from gunshot wounds.
Troopers then took Mariana T. Lesnic, the alleged shooter, into custody.
A police report indicated that Lesnic acted “willfully, deliberately and with premeditation by shooting him with a firearm,” but listed no additional details.
Lesnic currently faces charges of first-degree murder. She is being held in the Iowa County Jail on $1 million cash bond.
The identity of the deceased trucker has not yet been released.
