A truck driver was kidnapped and robbed outside a truck stop in Memphis this past weekend.

It happened at 4949 Lamar Avenue in Memphis, Tennessee at approximately 2 p.m. on Saturday.

According to FOX 13, Edrick Dunn stopped in Memphis on Saturday afternoon during his usual haul from Illinois to Texas.

He parked his tractor trailer behind the Pilot truck stop and then crossed the street to the Church’s Chicken to grab a meal. As Dunn was leaving the restaurant, three men approached him with a gun and told him to get inside their vehicle.

Dunn was held at gunpoint and forced into a silver Buick Enclave while the three men took his cellphone, keys, and wallet.

“My mind was wandering everywhere. My whole life flashed in front of me,” said Dunn.

The men also forced Dunn to call his bank so they could hear how much money he had in his accounts, and then made him give them the pin to his debit card. The men managed to take thousands of dollars from Dunn’s account in a period of 8 hours.

“They took my chicken by the way and ate it right there in front of me,” Dunn added.

After 8 hours, the three men brought Dunn back to his rig and instructed him to drive himself and one of the men to another truck stop in West Memphis, Arkansas.

Dunn and his passenger were followed by another vehicle until they reached their destination on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. At approximately 9 a.m. on Sunday, the passenger was let out, and Dunn was set free.

Edrick Dunn sustained no injuries in the ordeal and was able to drive until he found the Jericho Police Department, the first place that made him feel “safe.” He reported the kidnapping and robbery to the officers there.

“I wish I would have never come to Memphis,” Dunn said.

Police are still investigating the incident.
