A trucking video uploaded last year has been making the rounds on social media recently, showing a big rig performing a “speed run” down Monteagle Mountain (Interstate 24) in Tennessee.

And by “speed run” we mean driving through traffic at speeds north of 80 miles-per-hour, using the shoulder to pass other vehicles.

The video was posted to the /r/trucking section on news aggregation site Reddit.com. Both the YouTube and Reddit commenters were outraged by the video, calling it “stupid” and “reckless”.

To play devil’s advocate, it appears that the driver in the video was bobtailing, which is not nearly as bad as if he was hauling a loaded trailer. Still though, this is not recommended.

And if you do do it, you probably shouldn’t post it on YouTube.
