A truck driver was injured on Wednesday morning after a motorist shot through his window on Interstate 30.
The incident happened on December 13th at approximately 9:34 a.m. in Rowlett, Texas.
According to The Dallas News, the 57-year-old unidentified truck driver from San Antonio was travelling west on I-30 near Dalrock Road when he changed lanes to avoid an accident blocking a lane. The trucker says he then heard a pop and felt like he “had been punched in the neck” before realizing that he was bleeding and his window was broken.
The truck driver then drove towards police officers, who were working a nearby traffic accident and reported the incident. He was transported to a nearby hospital where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
The trucker was unable to provide officers with a description of the shooter or the vehicle, but police believe that he was injured by the shattered glass rather than a bullet.
“It’s unclear whether the shooting was a road rage incident,” said police Lt. David W. Nabors.
“The shooting is being investigated as an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon,” Nabors continued.
Anybody with information regarding the shooting is urged to call the Rowlett police at 972-412-6220
