A truck driver has been hospitalized after a medical emergency caused him to drive off the road and onto an embankment.
It happened Monday, June 12th, at approximately 9 a.m. off of Interstate 10 in Avondale, Arizona.
According to AZ Central, The semi truck, which was being used for construction, was driving on an unpaved service road beside Interstate 10 when the driver experienced a medical emergency.

While the driver was incapacitated, the truck ran off the makeshift road and crashed into a chain-link fence, causing the back end of the trailer to dangle off the edge of a nearby embankment.
State troopers say the driver was “in and out of consciousness” when they arrived on scene.
He was taken to a nearby hospital.
Traffic was slowed by rubberneckers while crews retrieved the truck from the side of the embankment.
The truck was removed by approximately 11:10 a.m.
The name of the truck driver, or his current condition, have not been released.
