Over the weekend, heavy rainfall in Louisiana caused historic levels of flooding, forcing thousands to evacuate and head for safety.

The National Weather Service reported that more than 17 inches of rain fell in some parts of Louisiana, within a 24 hour period. More than a thousand people had to be rescued, some clinging to objects such as trees in order to stay alive.

Highways across the state were shut down. Nearly 1,500 motorists were stranded on Interstate 12 overnight.

But despite all the chaos, for one trucker it was just business as usual.
