A truck driver was arrested in New Jersey last week after pointing a shotgun at another trucker who asked him to move his rig.
The incident occurred on Monday, January 8th, at approximately 4:15 p.m. near Roxbury Township, New Jersey.
According to the New Jersey State Police, police were called to a rest stop on Interstate 80, west of Roxbury Township, by a truck driver who claimed a gun had been pulled on him by another driver. The trucker told police that he had asked the other driver to move his truck, but instead of moving, the driver pulled out a shotgun and pointed it at him.
The armed driver, later identified as 55-year-old Frantisek Ralek of Jacksonville, Florida, was confronted by police and ordered out of his truck. Officers then conducted a search of the rig and discovered a Mossberg 500 12 gauge, along with seven shotgun shells.
Both truck drivers were taken to the police station, where Ralek eventually admitted to pointing a shotgun at the other driver after the man had knocked on the door of his cab.
The other driver was soon released, but Ralek is currently being held in the Morris County Jail. He was charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and unlawful possession of a shotgun for which he didn’t have a permit.
