A man sustained life-threatening injuries this weekend after being pinned in his car by a tractor trailer.

It happened on Saturday, May 20th at approximately 1 p.m. on Interstate 94 outside of Hudson, Wisconsin.

According to Star Tribune, the tractor trailer was traveling westbound on I-94 when traffic began to slow due to an incident on the Hudson Bridge. The tractor trailer came upon the stopped traffic too fast and could not stop in time, WisDOT reported.

In an attempt to avoid hitting the vehicles stopped in front of him, the semi driver, Muhumed F. Noor, tried to switch lanes.

While switching lanes, the semi truck hit motorist Douglas Tronrud in his Pontiac Grand Am. The truck then partially penetrated the median barrier, causing the car to become pineed between the wall and the truck’s trailer.

The police were able to break the back window of the Pontiac and extricate Tronrud from his vehicle. Tronrud was taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the truck was not injured in the crash.
