A man was killed early Wednesday morning after a sedan collided with a semi.
It happened in Richfield Township, Ohio, on US 20 and West Central Avenue at approximately 3:00 a.m.
According to ABC, a Honda Civic was heading south on County Road 1 when it failed to obey a stop sign. Upon ignoring the stop sign, the Civic was struck by an oncoming semi-truck heading east on Route 20.
The collision caused the semi to roll, spilling its load of steel coils and landing it upside down in somebody’s yard. The semi also struck an electrical pole, starting a fire
Firefighters extinguished the fire before it could get out of hand.
The truck driver was taken to a hospital with minor injuries but was seen walking at the scene of the accident and speaking with officers prior to departure.
The driver of the Civic died in the accident.
The body is being positively identified through dental records, a process that could take days, but he is believed to have been a man in his late teens.
Authorities say they are not releasing his name at this time.
