A truck driver’s Facebook post has gone viral, showing an extremely close call with a reckless car driver who blew past a stop sign and drove directly in front of his rig.
The incident happened in Rudolph, Ohio, at the intersection Ohio State Route 281 and Libtery Hi Road.
The driver, Joe Strauss, wrote the following on Facebook.
This is how close a person came to losing their life Tuesday afternoon on SR281 and Liberty Hi Rd.
This person did not stop or even slow down, they literally came inches from the front bumper of my 80,000 truck at 55mph.
I saw them and started to slow, you can tell by the video a few seconds either way and the outcome could have been terrible.
This is why when I hear people complaining about increased law enforcement patrol in our area I for one am happy.
It does not matter if it is my fault or not, If this driver would have died, or possibly me, I (or my family) have to live with the outcome. This is the exact reason I spent a lot of money on a dash cam.
As a Firefighter I have removed bodies from accidents like this could have been, and it still is in my mind years later. Your actions or lack of…. effect so many lives.
