In an impassioned video, one trucker opens up about how she felt while she was trapped in the midst of a protest rally in Minneapolis.
On July 13th, Youtuber Becca Kennedy posted her story, entitled, “My life matters too!” Along with her video, she wrote the following,
“Earlier today I got caught in a protest. I’m a female solo truck driver. I have done nothing to any of these people. There are ways to do protests so innocent people don’t get caught in the crossfire.”
Kennedy admits that she doesn’t normally post public videos like this, but this incident caused her so much grief; she found it warranted to explain the shocking reality of her situation.
After taking a wrong turn in Minneapolis, she found herself stuck in the middle of a protest, where she says it “scared the bejeezus” out of her.
She explained that she was trapped in a crowd of people shouting “black lives matter,” to which she says she agrees. But added, “my life matters too.”
“I’m just a woman out here trying to make a living,” the teary-eyed driver said.
Becca ended her video with a plea to those thinking about protesting, explaining that too many innocent lives are being hurt in the process.
As she explains, “We all bleed red, and in the end, it’s God we gotta answer to, not each other.”
