A truck driver was busted for trying to avoid tolls on the George Washington Bridge last week.
According to the New York Daily News, a NY/NJ Port Authority police officer pulled over the white 2006 Freightliner on Wednesday, March 9th, after the truck rolled through the toll booth with its front license plate missing.
The 41-year-old driver, Javier Marte of Yonkers, N.Y., was arrested when officers discovered he was using a fishing line, connected to the inside of his truck, to hide his license plate while passing through the EZ Pass toll booths.
Police say the numbers on his rear license plate were not visible either, because the license plate was bent.
We don’t condone breaking the law, but with tolls of more than $100 dollars on the George Washington Bridge, can you really blame him?
