A truck driver was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly using a mechanical bumper which hid his license plate as he passed through the E-ZPass lane on the George Washington Bridge between New York and New Jersey.

According to police reports, the 45-year-old driver had a switch in his truck that activated the device and lifted the license plate out of sight of the toll booth cameras.

Obviously we don’t condone breaking the law, but with the ever increasing prices of tolls who could really blame him?

The George Washington Bridge currently costs $95 for a five axle commercial truck to pass.
