A routine delivery ended in tragedy after a truck driver accidentally ran over his coworker while backing up.
It happened on Tuesday, August 8th at approximately 3:30 p.m. in Norwood, Massachusetts.
According to CBS Boston, two Sunbird Transport employees were making a delivery of roofing supplies near 1 Upland Road when one of the employees got into the truck to back it up.
The driver did not see his coworker behind the rig and put the truck into reverse. The driver backed the rig up, running over his coworker and killing him instantly.
It is not clear why the man was behind the semi truck.

“This was apparently an accident,” said Chief Bill Brooks of the Norwood Police.
“It’s particularly difficult where the operator knew the victim, where they know each other and work together,” Brooks continued.
The driver was visibly distraught, and officers urged him to seek medical care. He was transported to a nearby hospital.
Brooks says that the driver had “no signs of impairment” at the time of the accident.
The identities of both men have not yet been released.
