A truck driver says he was just following his GPS after jackknifing on a one-lane dirt road.
It happened on Thursday, October 5th in Salt Lake County, Utah.
State police say the truck driver was following his GPS when it led him down the narrow dirt road on the Oquirrh Mountains. The driver was unable to safely maneuver the dirt road, eventually causing the truck to jackknife.
The North Toole Fire District was called and a tow truck was used to turn the truck around.
According to KSL News, the driver was concerned about “being attacked by a mountain lion or other large animal” while waiting for help to arrive. Thankfully, no one was injured in the incident.
Butterfield Canyon Road was closed for several hours but was reopened by 8 p.m.
