A truck driver from Nebraska is alive today, thanks to the efforts of three rescue workers, after passing out on the side of Interstate 80 in Iowa.

State trooper John Hitchcock approached the stopped semi after noticing its hazard lights were blinking and saw the truck driver passed out inside.

He immediately pulled the driver out of the vehicle and began to perform CPR.

That’s when two other men, all from different agencies joined in on the rescue effort.

Deputy Kurt Ferguson, and Fire Captain Curtis McKeon arrived at the scene and helped the state troop revive the driver. The dash cam on his cruiser captured the entire rescue.

Just one hour later, the truck driver was back to normal, talking and laughing with the men who rescued him. It was the best possible outcome from what started as a grim situation.

Hitchcock told KETV, “It’s awful nice to see someone you didn’t think was alive talking to you an hour later.”
