A Kansas Highway Patrol trooper captured dramatic footage of a tractor trailer losing control on Interstate 70 and sliding into oncoming traffic.

The incident happened last Sunday, on January 15th, in Russell County, Kansas.

According to Trooper Tod Hays, the driver was “traveling too fast for conditions,” causing the truck to slide into the eastbound lanes. Hays was able to dodge the truck by driving on the highway shoulder.

“Please SLOW DOWN and gauge the road mile by mile. Just because it’s not icy where you are does not mean it may not be icy 20 miles down the road,” Hays wrote on Facebook.

No one was hurt in the incident, but the driver of the truck was ticketed.
