A crash involving a sedan and a semi truck hauling pigs was caught on Facebook live on Wednesday.

It happened in Goldsboro, North Carolina at approximately 12:30 p.m. on Highway 13 outside of Lowriders Tire Sales.

Misael Hernandez was filming a Facebook live commercial promoting his business, Lowriders Tire Sales, when a thunderous crash could be heard offscreen.

According to the Goldsboro News-Argus, the truck was driving southbound on Highway 13 when a Ford F-150 pickup stopped in the road to try to make a left-hand turn onto West Hill Street.

The trucker, 23-year-old Christopher Howell, swerved to miss the waiting pickup.

The semi truck went off the right side of the road to miss the pickup. The semi truck was then able to return to the roadway but clipped the pickup, crossed into the wrong lane, and hit a Honda Accord.

The tractor trailer and Accord came crashing towards Hernandez as he streamed his commercial.

“WOW!” Hernandez exclaimed as the crash settles on the front lawn of his business.

Pigs began filing out of the wreckage and the driver of the semi truck could be heard yelling for help from the cab of his truck.

Hernandez continued to film and attempted to wrangle his dog as others rushed to the scene.

John Hamilton, 47, driver of the Accord, was taken to the hospital with serious injuries but is expected to survive. The driver of the pickup, 18-year-old Nathan Coker, was treated for minor injuries on the scene but was not taken to a hospital.

The truck driver, Christopher Howell, was unharmed but was charged with reckless driving. 21 pigs died in the crash.

Highway 13 was closed for approximately 6 hours and reopened around 6:45 pm.

Hernandez later apologized for not rushing to aid the victims of the wreck sooner, claiming that he was “in shock” and was concerned about the possibility of the truck exploding.
