
A tractor trailer crashed into an overpass on a parkway in New York, damaging the vehicle and causing significant traffic delays.
It happened on Wednesday, May 24th on the Bronx River Parkway in Yonkers, between the 11E and 11W exits, at approximately 3:20 a.m.
According to The White Plains Daily Voice, The semi truck was hauling kitchen appliances southbound on the Bronx River Parkway when it struck the 9’10” overpass.
Officials had to cut the trailer into pieces in order to remove it from the low overpass.
Tractor trailers are prohibited from traveling on all New York parkways, however the driver failed to notice the ‘no-trucks’ signs.
The driver of the splintered tractor trailer will be given citations for driving a commercial vehicle on the cars-only Parkway and failing to obey a traffic control device.
