According to the driver of the tow truck, he was being escorted by the police and fire department, who after checking the train schedule, sent him across the tracks.

As they were crossing, the train unexpectedly started approaching quickly. With the rail road gate still up and the truck partially on the tracks, the driver realized he needed to act quickly.

Luckily, he was able to move the truck back literally seconds before a devastating collision. Then he was somehow able to walk away cool, calm, and collected. If I were in that position I would have probably walked away crying like a baby. The words “close call” don’t do this situation justice.
