Popular auto website Jalopnik gives us the run down of their research on what’s the most common roadkill across the United States.
There was never any statistics on common roadkill, which is what led Jason Torchinsky to do the research in the first place. It took him a lot of digging around through academic papers, independent studies and animal control department documents. Clearly, he really put a lot of effort into this.
His findings say the most common nationwide are armadillo and deer, though it may only be deer because of all the damage claims relevant to deer hitting. Here’s the full map of his research.
