A taco truck and tractor trailer collided late Thursday night, causing a multi-vehicle collision that involved at least eight people.

The accident happened on September 6th at around 10:15 p.m. in Fresno, California.

According to Highway Patrol Officers, the semi truck was traveling south on Highway 99 north of Clovis Avenue when it struck the back of the El Mexicano Taco Truck, sending it skidding into two SUVs traveling in nearby lanes before it eventually overturned.

A total of eight people were involved in the accident, one of whom suffered major injuries, and several sustained what was described as “moderate to minor injuries,” reported ABC 30 Action News.

Two lanes of southbound 99 were shut down until around 1:00 a.m. on Friday morning but have since been reopened.

The exact reason for the initial collision between the tractor trailer and taco truck has not been released.
