Swift Transportation has announced an increase in cruising and pedal speeds on all company trucks by the end of November.

The announcement was posted on the Swift Transportation Facebook page on Tuesday, November 14th and has since been shared by nearly 400 people.

The post itself simply announces the “great news”:

MORE GREAT NEWS! We are excited to announce another HUGE change to our fleet: our truck speeds have increased!
Current drivers: please inquire with your driver leader about this policy. If you are not a current driver, and would like to discuss our opportunities, please message us or contact a Swift recruiter at (888) 424-0950.

In the comment section, the post then outlines the 3 mph. speed increase for both cruise control and pedal speeds.

The post also instructs drivers to “please be patient” as the company mechanics, drivers, and executives adjust to the upcoming change:

Details: Effective November 27th, 2017, Swift company trucks will go from 60 mph on the pedal and 62 mph on cruise, to 63 on the pedal and 65 on cruise. Drivers, please refer to your Driver Leader for details.
· Effective date is November 27th, 2017. The truck speed change will begin on and after that date.
· Truck speed will be adjusted on the next B service. Many shops will be able to make truck speed changes at other times. Services and repair work will take precedence ahead of speed changes, so please be patient.
· This applies to company trucks only.
· No other speed parameters will be changed, including “Pass Smart” speed (currently set at 67 mph), etc.

The changes go into effect on Monday, November 27th and applies to company trucks; pedal and cruise speeds only. “Pass Smart” speeds, however, will remain at 67 mph.
