A suspect has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder for shooting and killing a truck driver who was parked in a shopping center in Baton Rogue, Louisiana.
The suspect, 18-year-old Landry Carter, turned himself in with his family on Wednesday, August 9th.
Carter reportedly robbed and shot truck driver Keith Odom outside the Barton’s Surplus Warehouse on Florida Blvd., while Odom was repairing a tire on his rig as he waited for his delivery location to open.
According to The Advocate, the murder of Odom is the most recent crime in a string of charges brought against Carter, who is also being booked on three counts of armed robbery at two different dollar stores in the last 2 months.

“We are still working on the case,” says Sergent L’Jean McKneely Jr. a Baton Rouge police spokesman.
“We have surveillance video information. We have witnesses coming forward. We are also looking for additional witnesses who may have information that’s vital to this case.”
“It’s an unfortunate thing that has occurred,” continued McKneely.
“We have remorse for the family of the victim and we also have remorse for the family of the suspect because everybody loses in this situation,” McKneely added.
