Police say the heat caused a load of dough to rise out of a truck and spill onto a Washington state highway on Monday afternoon.

The mess happened on July 24th on Interstate 5 in Tacoma, Washington at around 4 p.m.

According to State Trooper Brooke Bova, the truck was traveling north on I-5 near the South 56th Street on-ramp when its load of dough began to rise up and spill out of the trailer due to the 80-degree weather.

The truck driver was able to make it to the shoulder with his overflowing load, so traffic was not blocked while crews cleaned up the doughy mess.

Cleanup took about an hour and the roadway was clear again by 5:10 p.m.

Police say the dough was “bakery waste” and was on its way to be reprocessed into animal feed.
