Hopping into a big rig as a student driver can be nerve racking as it is. Getting caught in the midst of a vicious tornado as a student driver takes it to a whole new level.
Three student truck drivers were in the truck as a tornado touched down in Shreveport, Louisiana. They were accompanied by their instructor who was in the passenger seat.
This tornado was part of the massive tornado cluster that hit in mid-May 2013 and lasted almost 4 days. The storm produced 26 tornadoes between 4 states and accounted for 6 death and $272 million in damages.
If you’re a veteran truck driver, take a few moments to remember the mindset you had during your student driver days. How would you react in the same situation? How do you think this rookie driver handled it?
