A truck driver made the news last week, after having his rig towed from a Meijer parking lot while he was shopping in the Huber Heights, Ohio, store.

The driver, Daryl Winslow, said his vehicle was wrongly towed and asked the store to reimburse him for the tow bill, and his cab ride home.

At first, the store denied his request and decided to stand by their “no unathorized vehicles” policy.

Several days later, after the story picked up steam on social media, the store had a change of heart and gave into his request, offering to pay the full $321.75.

Instead of a happy ending, however, Winslow says it’s not enough.

According to WHIO, Winslow says that store should have offered to pay his tow bill “days ago,” and would now like to be reimbursed for the day of work he missed, in addition to the towing and cab costs.

The cost of his missed work? $250, he says. He also wants a formal apology from the store.

“I think they made a reasonable offer, but it would have been the right thing to do two days ago. I want to be made whole and apologized to. It’s as simple as that.”

“I really like Meijer. I think it’s a great store,” he said. “The only question in my mind is do they want truckers as customers?” he added.

Winslow says his fight has just begun, and the store will continue to hear from him until they give in to his request. He says he plans take to trucking publications and social media next.
