A semi truck ended up at the bottom of a 100 foot embankment in Montana on Wednesday morning after losing control in heavy snow.
The accident happened on December 20th at approximately 8:45 a.m. in Great Falls, Montana.
According to the Gore Hill Fire Department, the truck driver was traveling north on Interstate 15 behind the Market Place in Great Falls when the driver lost control, sending the rig crashing through a guardrail and down an embankment, landing at the bottom of the 100 foot slope.
The Great Falls Tribune reports that the unidentified semi driver was not seriously hurt and refused medical attention, but witnesses say he had to be extricated from the wrecked rig.
“The driver is ok. I was right behind him coming down the hill when it happened, scariest thing I’ve ever seen! Called 911 right away and went and checked on him. They did have to cut him out of the cab though,” said witness Rhesa Bulen to KRTV.
The truck landed near a home at the bottom of the embankment, but did not damage the structure. The fire department says it appears that the truck is a total loss, however.
