A tractor trailer spilled a load of beer last week after it lost control while traveling through a mountain pass.

It happened in Wolf Creek Pass outside of Durango, Colorado on Wednesday, July 12th.

According to The Durango Herald, Rachel Smith of Durango, Colorado was driving west behind a semi truck on Wolf Creek Pass when she noticed the truck was smoking.

“I was about a quarter of the way down the pass when I started smelling that smoke,” said Smith. She watched as the driver approached a runaway ramp “but he went right on by it.” Smith says the truck reached over 60 mph.

The truck driver was able to make it onto another runaway truck ramp, but as he made it up the incline, his load of beer and energy drinks spilled out the back of the trailer.

“It was an absolute fountain of beer,” continued Smith. “The beer was just absolutely everywhere. It was pretty hilarious.”

The truck driver, 25-year-old Adam Catic, was not injured in the accident. Colorado State Patrol is still unsure whether or not the incident was caused by some sort of vehicle malfunction, reports CBS Denver.

“Fantastic driver, I mean how he kept that thing on the road without rolling it or hitting the side of the mountain or anything else I’m not sure,” Smith added.

The driver of the semi truck was not issued any citations.

Colorado State Police did advise truck drivers to use extreme caution while driving the Wolf Creek Pass, as nearly 50 semi truck crashes have occurred on the pass in the last 5 years.
