Police say a woman was injured after purposely stepping into traffic on the McCullough Bridge in Oregon on Wednesday evening.
The incident happened on October 24th at around 9:00 p.m. in North Bend, Oregon.
According to KCBY News, the 58-year-old woman was walking along the sidewalk on the bridge when she suddenly stepped into oncoming traffic, causing her to be struck by a moving tractor trailer.
Police had received multiple calls regarding a potentially suicidal woman on the bridge but were unable to get to her in time.
The unnamed truck driver was not hurt in the incident, but the woman was transported to the hospital with what were described as “significant limb injuries.”
The incident forced the closure of the bridge for around an hour but the area has since been reopened.
