So it’s been determined that a majority of truck-car crashes are caused by the drivers of cars.  But what are some simple things our four wheeling friends can do to prevent the preventable?

For one, give the big trucks some room. There are several reasons why, including multiple blind spots for the truck driver, not being able to stop as fast as other cars on the road, and of course potentially deadly tire blowouts.

The force of a tire blowing out and flying into your windshield is similar to the force of getting hit by the truck itself. Once it happens, it’s as if a missile was launched straight for you, too late to dodge, as seen in this video.

Want to know why tires explode, sending a  potentially deadly projectile hurling down the highway? Then find out why it happens here.
