All semi trucks have been banned from Rhode Island roadways until late Thursday evening according to a release from the state’s Governor.
Rhode Island Governor Gina Raimondo held a news conference early Thursday, January 4th in Providence, Rhode Island as a way of announcing the ban on semi truck travel due to bad weather.
According to Patch Rhode Island, 8 inches of snowfall had already accumulated in parts of Rhode Island before noon, creating reduced visibility, difficult travel and multiple wrecks involving semi trucks.
I’ve imposed a tractor trailer ban for all state roads and bridges until 9 pm tonight.
