A semi truck took a wrong turn into Canyonlands National Park and got stuck twice, leaving his trailer in one spot and his tractor dangling off a cliff in another.
It happened just before noon on Friday, September 1st, at Canyonlands National Park near Moab, Utah.
According to the Moab Times, the truck driver took a wrong turn onto Shafer Trail near the park entrance. As the semi truck attempted to descend the trail, the trailer got stuck.
The driver then released the trailer from the truck and continued down the trail.
Eventually, the driver lost control of the truck and it went careening down the trail, landing with its rear wheels dangling over the trail’s edge. Thankfully, the truck driver was not seriously injured in the accident.
Shafer Trail was shut down through Saturday, September 2nd, forcing motorists entering the park from State Routes 131 and 279 to avoid areas near the closed trail.
The truck was removed from the trail by Monday, September 4th, by Nations Towing.
The name of the truck driver or trucking company has not been released.
