A motorist caused a semi truck to roll into an embankment after admittedly taking his eyes off the road, leading to a chain reaction crash.
The accident occurred on January 11th at approximately 12:15 p.m. in Wyoming County, Pennsylvania, and it was all captured on surveillance video.
According to state troopers, the initial wreck occurred when a car stopped in the southbound lane of Route 309 to make a turn. A pickup driver behind the car then crashed into the stopped car, pushing it into the northbound lane.
The pickup driver claims he took his eyes off the road for a second, and that’s when the initial crash occurred, reported WNEP News.
An oncoming tractor trailer then approached the wreck and tried to swerve to avoid it, but the maneuver sent the rig skidding off the road and into some trees before crashing down an embankment.
The unidentified truck driver, as well as the driver of the car, were taken to a nearby hospital. The extent of their injuries is not known.
The incident is still under investigation and no citations have been issued as of yet.
