Traffic was backed up for hours in North Carolina Thursday after a semi truck momentarily lost control and ended up blocking all northbound lanes.

The incident happened at around 5:30 a.m. on July 26th in Rowan County, North Carolina.

According to WSOCTV News, State Troopers say that the FedEx semi truck was traveling along Interstate 85 north near Lane Street when it suddenly veered off road. The truck driver was able to get the big rig back on the interstate but as he did, the brakes locked up, leaving the truck blocking all northbound lanes of the interstate.

No one was injured in the accident, but traffic was backed up for miles as crews worked to cut the brakes on the tractor trailer and remove it from the interstate. The northbound lanes of I-85 were not reopened until around 10:30 a.m. that morning, more than five hours later.
