A trucker was found dead in his rig in a convenience store parking lot yesterday afternoon after police were asked to check out a truck that had been there for too long.
It happened at 115 Pace Street in Jackson Township, Pennsylvania at the Sheetz convenience store.
According to Fox 25 News, the death was called in by police around 11:20 a.m. after the body was found during an investigation of a semi truck in a Sheetz store parking lot. The store manager says that the tractor trailer had been parked there for several days.
The body was found slumped over in the cab of the truck with “drug paraphernalia near the body,” says Cambria County Coroner Jeff Lees.
The man has been identified as Shannon L. Roberson, a 39-year-old man from Oklahoma.
An autopsy conducted on Tuesday showed that Roberson had been dead for four days, the Altoona Mirror reported.
Authorities suspect that Roberson may have died from a drug overdose, but the investigation is still ongoing.
The exact cause of death will be determined through toxicology reports, which will take about 2 months to complete.
