Police in Georgia are asking the public for help in finding a semi trailer stolen from a church parking lot early Wednesday morning.
The trailer, which the church had already decorated for the local Christmas parade, was stolen from Pineview Baptist church at 2668 Whitesville Road in LaGrange, Georgia at approximately 1:00 a.m. on November 29th.
A surveillance video given to police captured footage of a red tractor entering the church’s parking lot and pulling up to the trailer. In that video, a man who police describe as either white or Hispanic can then be seen getting out of the cab and connecting the trailer before pulling away.
The suspect was wearing a black hat, white shoes, and a red shirt.
The stolen trailer is 53-feet-long and is described as silver aluminum with black trim. The trailer was decorated with wooden railings and benches and a large lighthouse had been built in the middle. The trailer’s tag number is UBH705.
“If you have any information on who this person is that is trying to spoil Christmas for this church please contact the Sheriff’s Office,” the Troup County Sheriff’s Office wrote in a Facebook post.
Anyone with information on the incident or the suspect can call the Troup County Sheriff’s Office at (706) 883-1616 or Crime Stoppers at (706) 812-1000.
