A trucker has been charged with disorderly conduct after allegedly entering a truck stop while intoxicated and challenging an employee to a fight.
It happened on Monday night, October 16th in Joliet, Illinois.
According to The Herald-News, 25 year old Dwight Shaw pulled into the 2401 S. Chicago Street Route 66 Food N Fuel on Monday after his semi truck broke down.
Police say that Shaw then entered the truck stop building and got into an argument with one of the employees, during which he leaped on top of a counter and declared that he ‘wanted to die.”
Another individual then pulled Shaw down from on top of the counter and escorted him outside while others called the police.
When police arrived, they discovered Shaw intoxicated near his out-of-service semi truck, and brought him to a nearby motel to ‘sleep off’ the intoxication.
Shaw’s trucking company was notified of the incident and sent someone to pick up the tractor trailer.
That company’s name has not been specified.
Shaw received a citation for disorderly conduct.
