A semi truck came to a stop inside a church building after losing control on a nearby roadway Monday afternoon.
The incident happened in Haw River, North Carolina.
According to police, the semi truck hauling logs was traveling on Roxboro Road when it was unable to stop at a red light. The driver then swerved to avoid strikig a line of cars and left the roadway, crashing into The Lamb’s Chapel and knocking down one of the walls.
Three other vehicles were also involved in the incident and one man inside one of those vehicles was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Luckily, church members had already left the building for the day 15 minutes prior to the crash, so no other injuries have been reported according to My Fox 8.
Drugs and alcohol are not thought to be factors in the crash and police are saying that the evidence suggest the truck’s brakes failed.
As of Tuesday, August 14th the driver was not facing any charges for the accident.
