A pickup truck caused a wreck with a semi-truck carrying a load of corn earlier today.

It happened northbound on Highway 169 near Delaware Avenue in Minnesota early Tuesday morning.

According to Fox 9, a 32 year old Justin Peter Kubiczki was driving a Chevy Silverado pickup truck southbound when he made a U-turn in front of a northbound semi. The semi swerved to avoid hitting the pickup, causing it to turn over and spill its load of corn across the highway.

Highway 169 was closed in both north and southbound directions but has been reopened since the incident.

The driver of the tractor trailer, a 61-year-old Grant Martin Annexstad, was treated for minor injuries.

Officials say, though the Highway has been cleared of corn, crews were unable to keep corn out of the fields alongside the road, which may cause “excessive wildlife traffic to[be in] the area.” That means there may be more deer on and near the highway than usual.

Kubiczki was given a ticket for failure to use due care.
