The police department in Pineville, Oregon, recently published this dash cam footage, showing a semi truck overturning on a sharp turn. The footage was taken on the officer’s dash cam as he pulled over an RV on Highway 126 in Pineville.
Despite happening more than 2 years ago, the police department decided to share the video to warn drivers of the dangers of speeding and distracted driving.
The Pineville Police Department published the following description with the video:
“We have attached a link that involves a semi-crash that occurred over 2 years ago on the grade, on Highway 126 in Prineville. We have decided to show this video to get some awareness out there about speeding, distracted driving (to include texting and cell phone use), following too closely, failure to maintain lane of travel, and of course Drinking and Driving due to this weekend’s New Year’s Eve celebrations.
Please remember posted speed limits are limits designed under perfect conditions. Don’t forget about you and the limits of your vehicle and most of all road and weather conditions. Have a safe and happy holiday from all of us at Prineville PD.”
