Oregon state police are on the search for a driver that forced a trucker off of Highway 101.

It happened on Wednesday, August 30th, in Wheeler, Oregon.

According to the Oregon State Police, 65-year-old Patrick Steinauer was driving his semi truck full of lumber north on Highway 101 when he entered a curve in the road, reported KATU 2. As Steinauer exited the curve, another vehicle driving southbound began traveling in a ‘no-passing’ zone, approaching Steinauer head-on.

Steinauer swerved off the road to avoid a collision, running over train tracks and crashing into some trees.

The other vehicle did not stop, police say.

Steinauer was transported to a nearby hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

The vehicle was described as a white or cream color lifted Chevy pickup from the late 70’s. The driver was young with dark hair.

The Oregon State Police are still investigating the incident and urge anyone who knows anything about the crash or the suspect vehicle to please call the Oregon State Police at (503)-842-2899
